Dramatisch zeigt sich die Steilküste bei Alınca, im Hinterland finden sich typische Kulturlandschaften. Pinienwälder, Olivenhaine und mediterrane Macchia säumen die Wege. Sie wandern über antike Aquädukte und kommen mit den Ruinen von Patara und Xanthos zu bedeutenden Zeugnissen der Lykier.

LYCIAN WAY - THE FOOTSTEPS OF ALEXANDER THE GREAT
The connection of ancient paths covers a total of 509 km from Fethiye to Antalya. Already Alexander the Great used the way for his campaigns. So you are hiking on historical ground.
Enjoy the natural landscape along the long-distance hiking trail, characterized by the rock towers of the Taurus Mountains, dense forests, beautiful bays and excavations from antiquity. You hike idyllic mountain villages and enjoy the good, fresh air here at about 800 m altitude. Beautiful coastal walks take you to the breeding grounds of turtles in the sandy bay of Patara. Cultural highlights of this trip include visits to the ancient ruins of Phellos, the birthplace of St. Nicholas and the famous Myra rock tombs. At the end of the journey you can enjoy the turquoise sea in the Cavus Bay near Adrasan or go on hikes and excursions in the beautiful surroundings.
TOUR ITINERARY
1st day: arrival
Flight from Germany to Antalya. Short transfer to the hotel in the old town. The rest of the day is at leisure.
2nd day: From Ovacik to Faralya
After an early breakfast transfer (about 3 hours) to Ölüdeniz. Our tour begins above Ölüdeniz in Ovacik. The hike offers a wonderful view to the bay of Ölüdeniz and ends in Faralya, above the famous butterfly valley. Overnight accommodation in a pension in Faralya.
3th day: Faralya to Alinca
The bus takes us to Faralya, the starting point of today's hike. First, we hike to Kabak, where we have our coffee in "Mama's Restaurant". We continue with beautiful views over the Kabak Bay and finally, we climb up to the village of Alinca at 900 m altitude. From here we drive to the Kinik plain and continue to Patara. Our pension.in Gelemis is not far away from the ruins of Patara.
4th day: From Alinca to Bel
In the morning we drive back to Alinca (about 1 hour) from where we start the hike. We walk with a beautiful view over the cliffs first down to the vicinity of the village Bogazköy, then continue over the village Gey to Bel. Afterward, we continue to Patara to Pension St. Nicholas. Overnight at the pension.
5th day: From Bel to Gavuragili
We start today's stage in the already known place Bel. The descent to the Karadere Turtle Beach is very steep and rocky. For refreshments, we swim in the sea and treat ourselves to a cool drink. The beach section is under nature protection - here the turtles lay their eggs. Overnight in the already known pension.
6th day: Patara - Akbel
We walk directly from our guesthouse to the ruined city of Patara, where St. Nicholas grew up. The hike continues to Akbel. On the way, we see the aqueducts of the city with a specific system, with the Lycians, used to run the water via a sink. The bus picks us up in Akbel and we drive half an hour to the pension.
7th day: From Gökceören to Cukurbag
Bus ride (about 1 hour) from Patara to Gökceören. Here we start our today's hike and walk-in constant ups and downs partly on forest roads, partly on goat paths to Cukurbag. On the way, we will visit the ruins of Phellos at 1,000m altitude, a cult city of the Lycians. For the night we drive half an hour down to the picturesque coastal town of Kas. Overnight at Hotel Phellos.
8th: Bayindir to Apollonia
Today's tour leads back along the coast. The starting point is outside the village of Bayindir on a small alpine pasture at about 200 m altitude. The hike first leads along the coast on stony paths. At lunchtime, there is the possibility of a refreshing swim in the sea. Now we are ready for the long ascent that leads us across the fields of Sahilkilincli. From here we drive to the fishers village and harbor town Ücagiz. Overnight at Pension Onur in Ücagiz.
9th day: a day at leisure
On this boot-free day is a worthwhile optional trip to the famous rock tombs of Myra and St. Nicholas Church in Myra where the St. Nicholas was a bishop.
10th day: From Apollonia to Ücagiz
After visiting the ruins of the Lycian city Apollonia, we hike downhill to the coast. On the way, we meet the ruins of the ancient city of Aperlaie. It goes back over the narrow plain of the Sicak peninsula towards Ücagiz. On the way, there is the opportunity to swim. Overnight at the pension in Ücagiz.
11th day: From Kapakli to Ücagiz
Another beautiful coastal walk begins after a 20-minute drive in Kapakli. After a short descent, we pass the ancient city Istlada, hidden in the forest, then we reach the coast. From here we continue to Simena, where we visit the Lycian castle and stop there for a drink. The hike ends again in Ücagiz. Overnight at the pension.
12th day: Free day and beach holiday in Adrasan
Today we drive from Ücagiz to Adrasan (about 2 ½ hours) and start our beach holiday at the Palmira Hotel in the bay of Adrasan. The hotel is located just 200 meters from the long sandy beach of Cavus Bay, the sea with turquoise waters of the Mediterranean. An ideal starting point for optional hikes and excursions in nature! Optionally, there is also a boat trip through the wonders beautiful bays of the Mediterranean. Your guide will be happy to give you tips on recreational activities and help you to book the optional offers.
13th day: The eternal flames of the Chimaera
We drive half an hour up to the village Ulupinar. Today we can expect a comfortable hike that leads us through ancient times. First through a quaint village, then continue on Muli - paths we reach the highest point of the walk at 330 m, here are already the first flames to see. Less than an hour later we come to the big flames. Ever since Bellerophon killed the fire-breathing, flying monster named Chimeras, his flames flicker from the crevices of the rock. Continue to Olympos, one of the most important cities in Lycia. A city that served as a pirate's nest for a long time, with a beautiful beach inviting for a swim. 20 minutes transfer to the Hotel in Adrasan.
14th day: Transfer to Antalya
In the early afternoon, the bus takes us to Antalya to the hotel.
15th day: Departure
Breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport, and departure or extension.
Driving time to the airport for about 20 minutes.
