Even the Greek historian Herodotus was certain: the Aegean has "the most beautiful sky and the best climate" in the world.
Let us convince ourselves and follow in the footsteps of many individualists on the original Bozburun Peninsula in the West of Turkey. Dreamy bays, offshore rocky islands, and green hills to the deep blue sea determine
the charming rugged coast. A variety of historically interesting sites and small farming villages make exciting Promenades through antiquity and insights into rural life. Pure relaxation offers the evening sunset on our romantic hotel terrace by the sea.

TOUR ITINERARY

Our five hikes are a part of the long-distance hiking route Carian trail which is opened in 2013. Varied paths lead through the densely wooded rocky mountains in the hinterland and along the bays. Many swimming places, encounters with local farmers and Fishermen as well as the peaceful tranquility of the Bozburun Peninsula characterize the tours.
The walking times are at 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 hours with height differences of
200 to 550 m ascent and descent. The paths are different: Forest paths and shepherd paths alternate with more challenging routes and scree passages. The day off is ideal for a boat trip to the nearest, secluded coves, or for the visit of the ancient Knidos.

HIKING EXAMPLES

CARIAN SPLENDOR
The castle ruin near Turgut offers the first magnificent view of the day over the Bozburun peninsula. Then we descend to the monumental tomb of a Carian princess and arrive at a small waterfall through a valley up to the village of Bayir . TO THE EAST COAST
After a tea in Bayir we start through pine forests and the lush green landscape with ruins on almost every hill. On the way down to the ancient city of Amos on the east coast accompany us again picturesque views. Depending on the season, the Dream bay Kumlubük is great for swimming.

BAY OF SELIMIYE

From the farming village of Bahceli we reach through fields, pine forests, and two villages in the Inland to a nameless ruin site. The descent on historic paths offers unique panoramic views of the bay of Selimiye on the coast. In a beach café in the idyllic fishing village, we return or treat ourselves to a well-deserved break on the sandy beach.
